LOL
Cowboy Bebop is fine as an anime. Hollywood will not be able to improve upon it. Besides, not everything needs a live action version of it.
Oh, and Keanu is getting WAAAY to old to play Spike anyway.

500 million? There's no way it'd make that kind of money back, it's not the type of thing casuals would go see; they'll go to your Supermans and Spidermans, but Cowboy Bebop means as much to them as Pacific Rim or Serenity.

I agree they should waste spend the half billion on Bill & Ted 3 instead. At least nobody will notice or even care if Bill & Ted 3 is an abomination, where Cowboy Bebop is a well polished gem that can only be destroyed by Hollywood's greed and ignorance.

What are you talking about? Ego has nothing to do with it. It's not that Reeves was asking for half a billion, it's that the script was probably made to reflect everything in the CB universe. And that WOULD cost half a billion to do properly.

I reeeeeally wish that script would get leaked. I'd love to see what they had in mind for a hollywood adaptation storywise.

So instead of one disaster, Keanu is going to be in another.

Then why does the article say Keanu Reeves: Live-Action Cowboy Bebop Not Likely to Happen With Me in It. That's a pretty big sign of having a huge ego half a billion to produce the movie or not.

I'm not quite clear with why you think he has a "big ego" when he's saying a big budget movie will not have him in it as an actor. To me he's stating he's not very confident they think he's right for the part.

Live-action Bebop could be a ton of fun but $500M is a stupid ridiculous amount of money. How is that even possible. So much of it takes place inside a ship, on city streets, and closed sets you could build for a fair amount of money. A lot of the series is pretty grounded in places that don't take expensive CGI to bring to life. Were they making it nothing but epic space battles for like 120 minutes?
Plus... Keanu Reeves. Too old and not personable enough to pull of Spike.

He's saying it still MIGHT happen but he probably won't be in it.
Could you read the article instead of assuming he has an ego because he's saying that if it happens, he won't likely be in it?

Okay.
So someone else will be the lead instead of Reeves.
We'll see how this goes, all right?
