If they removed the ads from paid service, I would subscribe. They still have all the ads of the free version, however. Paying them is pointless.

Representatives from Disney and 21st Century Fox said the decision was not based on receiving low bids. The companies said they believe Hulu could develop its subscription video-on-demand services and challenge content providers such as Netflix.

Right.

Hulu's been losing cash for the past three years and the CEO left because he couldn't get the site developed to compete.

I'm actually impressed it's still around.

I can't wait for the day that Hulu's greed kills the Magic Goose. Putting ads on a paid service is just asinine.

I really don't think the ads are that big of a problem. Sure it's annoying, but most people pay for cable and it has ten times more ads than Hulu.

Plus you get earlier releases/HD on some titles, and you can watch it through the console/set top box apps.

I am a happy Hulu subscriber. It's way better than Netflix's weak content. I don't have a DVR, so Hulu is my DVR for American TV. Plus they have a great anime/cartoon selection. And they bring over some great British TV. If you would give it a try, you might be surprised.

Been a subscriber since they launched Plus, and never regretted/shut it off once.
