I hope movies and OVAs become a standard thing, but it seems this is just a special occasion. Think they'll follow it up with the second film? Also, it's interesting to note that it's at 1AM, can't mess with that WSJ.

One Piece being given another shot in the American market would be great.

The fanbase is already cemented, but I think it's far too late for it achieve DBZ or Nayrootoh levels of popularity. And airing one episode a week at the worst timeslot isn't going to help much. It would take several years of continuous play to catch up.

I wish that the film weren't something that I'd seen already, but it seems like a fitting choice. I think that Adult Swim/Toonami has had dodgy luck with films and OVAs before. I have fond memories of watching Char's Counter Attack and Read Or Die on Adult Swim way back when, but I don't recall them being heralded as very successful. I hope this succeeds for them.

I've never been all that interested in One Piece, but I might be occasioned to watch it. Besides, I owe it at least a little compensation for the few episodes of the 4Kids version that I watched.

To tell the truth, the block has mostly been a disappointment for me; all of this shōnen jump stuff isn't what I'm interested in, but I suppose the things that I prefer largely belong to days past. I rather that it exist than not, but guess that the tie had to be cut.

I have at least been enjoying Soul Eater.

That's the problem these days, isn't it? We know we want to see it do well and in turn give us a chain effect, but the problem is the total viewer numbers.

Well, watching an undoubtedly edited-for-TV film chopped up over 150 minutes isn't my idea of how to view something.

Ooh this is good news and nice to see One Piece back on the airwaves, this time without the heavy editing.

Great to see One Piece get another shot on the airwaves, I already own most of the current DVDs of it but what the hey I may watch a few eps just for the hell of it. Them airing the movie sounds great too, hopefully this means that in the future we can expect some better shows to air.

They could do better with the new TOM, but this one isn't bad. I've wondered what he'd look like with a lighter color scheme, I just hope for a light-up Toonami symbol like the first two had.

Go go go T.O.M. 6! (or 5, if we're in the mood for disavowing knowledge)
