If Marimite is shelf-worthy, why is the section about it colour-coded with Rental Shelf?

Heaven's lost property film is one I remember seeing but wasn't particularly a fan of... I dunno I guess its because I read the manga already to know what was going on and I didn't really care for it being part recap-movie *the only saving grace was that it was from Hiyori's perspective but that felt as if it dragged on to long for me* the only thing I consider notable about it is the last 30 minutes, which I didn't think either way of... I honestly haven't read or seen the series in such a long time that I really didn't remember what the manga's conclusion to the arc was but on its own merits, it was good enough for the series.

as for Baka and Test, while I liked it enough its like Index's second season with me, in which I enjoyed it nonchlantly, but when I look back on it I go: "Damn, this sucked compared to season 1..." the beach episodes were forgettable to me and I really was annoyed at how long the study camp arc lasted. the best parts of the season in my opinion where the eps where we flashed back into the student's previous years and the holloween arc at the end. I had my fun with it, but I'm not blind enough to ignore its issues.

We haven't had any shoujo anime series that are similar to Marimite lately. Up to this point, a ton of tropes found in that show are mercilessly parodied, went full yuri, or appeared in a lot of bishoujo shows aimed for guys. It's still rather fascinating how Marimite affected the otaku in the long run in terms of how female characters' relationships with each other are constructed.

Printemps did get a little melodramatic, but it set the stage nicely for what was to follow.
For me, this series is about Yumi, and watching her grow from basically no one to the Rosa Chinesis.
If there was a fire, and I could only save two of my series, it would be Maramite, and Aria.

The film, Heaven’s Lost Property the Movie: The Angeloid of Clockwork was alright imo as I did enjoy the latter half. Otherwise, it was just so-so. Speaking of which, it's been a long time there's been any notice or news regarding the release date of Season 3..

Oniisama E... is the king of shoujo-ai. It's also pretty much the best pure drama anime ever made.

In case anyone doesn't know, it's available for streaming on Viki's Tezuka Anime YouTube channel, under the title Dear Brother.

Ah, yes. I should have mentioned that. I forgot because I have old fansubs from The Techno Girls. I wish someone would DVD that masterpiece. Razz

I wasn't annoyed by how long the summer arc was but by how meaningless it was. Yes, we know they're idiots, it's in the title...

Anyway, just like season one, I enjoy Baka and Test best when they get away from the summoner tests; So more Baka with less test is fine by me. Look, Class F could be their way all the way up the ladder but it wouldn't matter, they'd still be class F.

Season two highpoints: Minami flashbacks, Shouko's and Yuuji's episode {especially the way it was framed}, idiots guys getting tortured by the smart girls who love them with the girls getting tortured in turn and directors Nabeshin and Oonuma in charge of the action/comedy. Most solidly shelfworthy for me.

It's like School Rumble with actual romantic development and true artistic flair.

BakaTest season 2 has a big problem in that stupid Away Camp arc. I mean even they were joking it was going on for far too long by the end of the third episode (the narator even groans for goodness sake, I want to believe that was an ab-lib). The punchline would have been hilarious if it was like two or three episodes.

That said, the episode that follows immediately after about spoiler[Minami and her first days at school] made me forget that waste of time.

BakaTest is really it's best when it's actually got something to say, not to say the comedy isn't funny (when it's not about Minami's chest or lackthreof or the psycho lesbian witch) but I really like the episodes about the chracters more.

I was hoping there'd be something about Beast Wars: Transformers.

You know what's weird? I've been seeing a lot of Beast Wars hate these days. Like saying the show should never have existed or it makes no sense in any context of Transformers. I'm quite surprised.

I watched Maria-mite desperately waiting for the inevitable moment when Sachiko would lead Yumi down into her torture porn dungeon, but alas...
