Uh wow. I never would have expected it would get another season after its very lackluster sales. Maybe it pushed more mangas than I thought it did? Great news though.

Not interested. Didn't like the adaptation of the manga, it was lackluster imo.

But...it was pretty much an exact, proper adaption of the manga. o_O If anything, it's one of the few anime series' that didn't deviate from the source material of an on-going manga it's adapted from. |

Indeed. I thought there would probably be no more TV series of this. Really surprised and excited to read this news. |

It added tons of filler, but more importantly it added the wrong kind of filler. Honestly, I felt like it missed the whole point of the series. |

Sweet!!
Tenri OVA has so far been great, so I look forward to this. Was not expecting this at all! Next year just gets better and better. |

Wow, this is fantastic. I had pretty much given up on a third season since people kept bringing up how bad its sales were. So, quite thrilled to see that apparently they were good enough to warrant a third season. I'm a bit more ambivalent about the spinoff OVA, but we'll see how it pans out I guess.

Kinda interesting they didn't name Manglobe again as the studio animating this... I wonder if they're gonna get someone else to do it this time?

For so long I thought I was the only one who felt this way! The anime may have adapted the manga "word for word," but it's the way those words were conveyed that was the problem. The biggest issue I had with the anime was that it was unnecessarily dramatic about everything. Scenes that felt like parody in the manga came off as completely serious in the anime, and KamiNomi without parody is just another bad harem show. I largely blame the soundtrack for this: it sounded like it was more fit for a dramatic work. But then I also feel that many scenes lingered more than they needed to. This was especially true with Kanon's filler, where they shoehorned in a few embarrassingly poor songs that took up significant parts of certain episodes. KamiNomi is not supposed to take itself so seriously! And the focus, at least until recently, was never on the girls themselves, but on Keima and how badass he is. The anime just tries so hard to make the girls legitimate characters when they really aren't at all, and this is also one of the reasons I feel the manga has been pretty poor lately. |
