Oh I am happy that his short is actually good!You know I actually thought that Looper had some Akira influence in it,I am happy to see that confirmed.

I didn't know that the guy who directed Akira (a mediocre movie) also directed Steamboy (a great movie). You learn something new every day.

For realz? You got through the whole film without thinking of Otomo? You really don't see those kind of character designs elsewhere.... (but hey, sweet to find another that enjoyed Steamboy more.)
"Combustible" definitely sounds cool. Can't wait to see it together with the whole of Short Peace.

Thanks for the play-by-play of the event and the review of "Combustible"!
I'm really looking forward to Short Peace and can't wait for more info on the other 2 films. I hope the blu-ray release at least has subs on it in case it doesn't get licensed.

Yep. I haven't watched many of his works (basically Akira, Steamboy and Metropolis, that's it), so I don't know his style very well.

Otomo only did the script for Metropolis.
