A release of a movie adaptation aimed at the original novel's fans? Isn't that like, a first for movies? =3

Odd how they would rename Sho though, especially as the British dub didn't. I was also always curious as to how we in the UK were given a different dub. Could it have been a licensing requirement from Mary Norton's estate or what?

I think it's probably just Disney trying too hard to localize it here for people who don't speak Japanese.

Can't wait to see this movie, any time I can see an anime movie in theaters I'm there (especially when it's a Ghibli movie).

Also, if anyone is in the KC area if you go to Naka Kon they are giving out advance screening tickets for the 11th. Hope to snatch me a pair of tickets and get to see this movie early.

I'll be sure to see this one when it's released. I'm happy to see that the screen number for Ghibli movies continues to expand.

I'll be seeing the film when it hits the theatres, with partial intent to help me determine which version of the English dub I prefer for when I buy the BD.

Kinda feels like Disney is pushing this one a little bit more than the previous Ghibli films. Can't complain. ^^

Wow, 1200+ screens is incredible. I had figured I'd just skip out of the theatrical run and just get the DVD when it was released, but seeing that number really makes me want to support Arrietty's box office release.

because this one is based on an English children book. alot of people know about the story already. They can probably break 20M this time, good money for both Ghibli and Disney.

The movie after Arrietty, From up on Poppy Hill will probably don't get many screens in US.

Really enjoyed the this movie when it opened it theatres almost 2 years ago, rewatched it last week with the UK dubbed bluray. Fantastic movie, much better than Ponyo.

I wonder if they're gonna release Kokurikozaka Kara here seeing as its not quite as kid-friendly as most Ghibli releases. I guess they'll pull another Grave of the Fireflies.

Please don't let them remove and butcher the soundtrack, especially the ending credits.

I live in a tiny Texan retirement town and it's showing here --- I was floored to see an ad for it in the paper! I'll definitely be going Smile
