I can't agree with the C rating that was given to Psyren..in my eyes its simply far to low of a score..Psyren is an excellent manga series that was never given the respect that it truly deserved..its a shame that we will never see any type of anime come out of such interesting source material..oh well.

I agree that the grade is too low. Personally I would have given the volume a B+ or A-. To me the first volume of the series was very well executed story wise and I believe it handeled things a lot more maturely than most shonen would in the beginning and set up the darker tone of the series

Psyren was always kind of underrated.

And it wasn't exactly what you'd call standard Shonen Jump material, as proven when it got the cut rather quickly, after just 3 years. Everyone was pissed about the somewhat abrupt ending.

But when the story got going, it was pure awesomeness. This coming from a person who generally dislikes fighting manga- well, Psyren had a solid setting to back up the story. It got weird at the end, though.

The core of the concept was simple, but I have to say that the execution kept me guessing and there were some plot twists that were really amazing.
I'm speaking for the series as a whole, as opposed to just the first volume.

Meh, while the first half of Psyren was good, the second was horrible generic shounen jump material that lacked its own identity. It always felt like a Bleach rip-off. I wasn't surprised it ended seeing how it did badly for several months in the magazine.

While i have to agree the second half wasn't as good as the first i have to say that it was far from generic or a bleack rip-off. some of the designs do remind me of bleach but with bleach being of questionable quality for the past couple of years i thin psyren was a worthy replacement. Also a C is still pretty harsh for the first volume of this series. it should at least be a B-.
