While I found it to be an excellent first attempt at a kart racer, I found Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing to be terribly flawed in practice, especially in online play, which lacks All-Star Moves: Without an equivalent to the Blue Shell or Lightning Bolt (Knuckles's Emerald Power move nothwithstanding), a weak item handicap system, a tendency for projectiles to get hit by obstacles on course (Red Shells go around obstacles), and a majority of projectiles not only firable backwards but home in on other racers when fired backwards, the player in 1st has a strong advantage and, in most online races I've had, will keep the lead for the rest of the race if they can get it by the middle of the first lap. The lead player has too many defensive options, way more than the players in 2nd have offensive options.

That's a game that is in need of a sequel that'll tune up the item system. That, and make obstacles a fixture of the courses instead of things simply thrown in. Mario Kart 64's Yoshi Valley wouldn't be the same without the giant egg and the Harry Hedgehogs (as they're placed strategically to make shorter paths riskier); Mario Kart DS's Tick Tock Clock would not even function properly without its rotating gears and pendulums. I'd like to see a sequel to All-Stars Racing have courses like these.

By the way, I noticed the Mario Kart 7 trailer sometimes has an odd fixation on Princess Daisy. Considering Team Ninja made Dead or Alive Dimensions, which was similarly fixated on Kasumi, I wonder if some high-up there has a thing for girls with long light brown hair.

Why can't both this games come out sooner so I actually have some 3DS games to play? Crying or Very sad Oh well, I've got Solatorobo to hold me off for now...

Mario Kart 7 is looking really good. I'm especially interested in seeing how they change up the retro tracks to incorporate the new flying and underwater mechanics. My only worry about Super Mario 3D Land is that it might end up being a bit shorter than some of the recent titles. If it's at least around the same length as New Super Mario Bros. then I should be happy.

Both of these games look good in 3D after watching the trailers Nintendo put up on the eShop (not as good as Paper Mario though! Very Happy).

And there needs to be greater differentiation between vehicles' capabilities. One can pretty much play different vehicles the same way.

Yeah, besides All-Star Moves, Sonic is functionally identical to Billy Hatcher, Amigo, and Amy, with Aiai having slightly slower top speed with all other traits the same for awhatever reason. That being said, I do like Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. When there are two or more evenly matched players, it's incredibly intense.

I've followed previous Mario Kart games' trailers pretty closely, so when I see something weird, like the high exposure of Daisy in this trailer, I notice it. Mario Kart trailers are traditionally about Mario, Yoshi, Peach, and Bowser, and sometimes Luigi; I've seen a lot of people say Daisy's voice is annoying so Nintendo prefers to downplay her.
