I was lucky enough to see Mai Mai Miracle twice last year. First at the New York International Children's Film Festival, then at the Toronto Fan Expo Anime Film Festival.

It is a beautiful, heartwarming film. I urge everybody who can to go see it.

I really enjoyed Mai Mai Miracle. The only fansubs I know that exist for it are perhaps one of the worst translations ever ("Many things at Shinko's place!" instead of saying how imaginative Shinko is). So I wish I could go to this and see it again with proper subtitles. Would be nice for this to get a release as well. It has some gorgeous artwork and it was quite fascinating to see the 'old' Kyoto in Shinko's mind intertwine with the postwar setting.
