Shimbun? You do mean shinbun right? 新聞 or しんぶん = shinbun. ん = n, where exaclty are you getting this "m" from?

Depending on the Romanization scheme, the "ん" sound can be transliterated as "m" to better approximate how the phoneme changes when it is put before the "b-" phoneme. This is often how "shimbun" is transliterated — see Asahi Shimbun, Yomiuri Shimbun, Kyoto Shimbun, or Hokkoku Shimbun. |
