This is good news indeed since this was a wonderful series. I bought the collector's box when Geneon had the license but incase the something bad happens to my set it's good to know I'll be able to find a replacement, and most likely at half the price too!

Minor detail, but I wouldn't really call Last Exile alternate history. It's made faily clear early on that the world isn't anything like ours, and there are no references to anything in real history.
It might take place in the future on another planet, actually.
Nice to hear it got licensed though.

Seems like they are going for a lot of the older Geneon licenses. Maybe this will mean they are going to pick up Cardcaptor Sakura for a rerelease? I can dream...

Not really big news for me since I already have Last Exile, but it's good to hear.
Me, I'm still waiting for Samurai Champloo.

For this new show thing they've doing, they've already made it clear what shows they've licensing. Except for 1 open slot, we already know what the next 5 will be.
Soul Eater
Eva 1.0
Oh! Edo Rocket
and Gankutsuou
That being said, Last Exile is still extremely easy to find cheap on the internet.

If they get Cardcaptor Sakura I'd die.
I've been wanting it for years.
They got xxxHolic and Tsubasa. Why not, eh?
Pretty please Funimation?

Well, this is great. It would be nice for the better titles of the Pioneer/Geneon catalog to be picked up and put back out there.
Let's see.
Some must haves are Cardcaptor Sakura, Ai Yori Aoshi, Dual Parallel Adventure, ROD TV, Trigun, El Hazard, Chobits, Dokkoida, Ah My Goddess Movie, Mini-Goddess Adventures, Gungrave, Master Keaton, Strawberry Eggs, Shana, Jubei-chan 2, Hand Maid May, Heat Guy J, Battle Athletes...

But do older titles really sell? That's the problem. Not all of those have big names like ROD or AMG, so they wouldn't be worth it as much.

Man if they were going for older titles nobody has lain right now. Last Exile bores me.
(Anime fans are fickle huh?)

I wonder how ready Funi is if the market shrinks due to recession.
License blitzes like this cost money to put together.
Now personally due to my long running dislike for funi (another dimension my arse) i wait for their thin packs to save money, as opposed to ADV, Bandai and TRSI where i tend to just buy their shows as they come out, some thanks just too one or two fan sub episodes seen. (i have at least two shows that got licensed after i saw 1 episode and i've yet to full watch even now owning all the DVDs)

I was one of those kids who was too afraid to ask her parents to buy a series spanning 18 volumes... that being said, I would LOVE a Cardcaptor Sakura re-release now that I'm older and finanically indepent.
Back on topic: Last Exile always had very distinct character designs... I may consider it.
