I assume it actually means Fall 2023? Winter ended a little over a month ago.

Sweet! You can never have too much Jashin-chan. Reading about the crowdfunding campaigns left me shaking my head. Surely they had more money to make season 3 than just the $350,000-ish US the campaign raised? That was 12 episodes. You can't make 12 episodes of anime on that pittance, can you? And not have it visually look like an episode of South Park? At least they have $865,000 US to make season 4 but even that seems like a small amount to do an entire cours.

@ SmurfRockRune - you might be right but on the other hand, it sounds like this spin-off is just a single episode (although it's a little unclear). If that's true and if it's broadcast somewhere between December 21 to 31, then that's still Winter 2023. But I know what you mean.

The site emphasizes that this television spinoff is different from the crowdfunded fourth season of the anime.

It's being funded by tax money from Chitose, Obihiro, Kushiro, Furano, and Minamishimabara.
Apparently Jashin-chan has grown so powerful that local governments must pay a tithe to her.

Pretty much that is the gist of it

A large portion of it is being paid trough the tax money they provided from those areas, kind of similiar to how NHK shows are sponsored trough tax money as well

The crowdfunding campaigns is to help ease the burden on the tax collection not to mention to help improve the quality of the anime's production overall and additional extra donations still goes into it for additional content like this spin off.

I kind of wish a lot more anime gets funded trough crowdfunding. I am sure quite a few titles can get adapted or have full adaptations if just enough sponsorships/donations from fans get trough it all.

Basically Jashin's what if "Good" ending story, where she might actually defeat Yurine.
