Waiting for season 2 to get dubbed before I watch it. So far, Nijigasaki is my favorite series out of the franchise.

You must be the only people in the world who liked Superstar season 2, let alone consider it the best ever.

No. I agree with the authors.

I am very curious about your thoughts on why you didn't like Superstar S2 because Chris and Steve made some pretty compelling points about the show's favor especially in regard towards Kanon.

I don't know if I'd call S2 the best Love Live ever but I really enjoyed it. I don't try to think too deep about Love Live, I just want to switch off my brain, have fun and see cute girls singing songs in pretty outfits.
I don't know if I'd call it worse either because every season has had its flaws. I know I was never bored during this and that's all that really matters to me.

Kanon is probably the biggest issue. I would like the rest of the girls to get to do something once in a while, please. "Oh, looks like Chisato understand Shiki and Mei's issue and is gonna convince them to join? Nope, Kanon. Kinako and and the other girls are gonna recruit Natsumi? Nope, Kanon flew over the country for the most contrived reason ever and happened to be eavesdropping. Okay, but now that Kanon did all the recruiting, we're gonna get some senpai/kouhai pairs to bond, right? Hahaha, you thought so, here's a pointless episode about getting a stage and some roads or something. By the way, Kanon is so awesome we haven't even won the full contest yet but the rival's parents like her better than their daughter now, let's devote our two last episodes to that only to have no payoff at the end."

Like someone said above, I just watch it for the cute girls, and yeah, I agree with the authors they are cute*. Wish we had had some more of them instead of all this MC wank. The most frustrating part is that all these contrived writing choices could have been easily avoided. Have people other than Kanon do the recruiting, gives us some more senpai/kouhai bonding episodes instead of Kanon solving pointless issues, and if you wanna have Wien join at the end have the final arc be about moving her with the song for the Love Live finals instead of about how amazing Kanon is.

*Except season 2 Keke, who was turned into the franchise's biggest bitch. At least in the first season you could say she was taking Sumire down a peg when she was getting cocky, here her only schtick was making actively hurtful comments completely unprovoked. You could even read their dynamic as gaslighting, even their makeup episode had some heavy ass projection on her side with lines like "you're always opposing what I say and trying to pick a fight" (which if you go back and check, is exactly what herself and only her seems to be guilty of). Yay for Love Live's cutest mentally abusive relationship!

EDIT: forgot to add how Keke's going back to China plot was basically a non-issue other than for their focus episode. I'm still unsure if the rest of the original girls even found out about it or were too far to hear, because they had literally no reaction to it.

Okay yeah, that's more than I can say for Niji.
