I wish One Piece can make yearly movies like what they used to. These specials and whatsoevers, are basically either compressed retelling of TV episodes with new added scenes or just basically a low-key side story. I get that Oda is too busy making storyboards for his manga, but how about just supervising? I mean, Aoyama Gosho and the whole DConan team releases yearly movies that keeps on breaking their previous records. There's no reason to think Oda and the whole One Piece makers can't do it too.
Either way, I am looking forward to this special, especially the Nami and Sanji chapters.

The poster makes it look like whereas Luffy's crewmates are bleeding and/or very upset, Luffy is ecstatic and blissfully unaware of what's going on with them.

It's not hard to see why they wouldn't though. These. Specials are one offs,and the main series could. Last for 20+ to god knows how long really. There's really no telling how much money they would need to allocate for the future.

This would only work if they used the original setttei sheets. Modern one piece does NOT look good with the classic story-lines.

This is an independent work with it's own budget, and materials allocated by FUJI TV. The decline in quality would come from the better directors being siphoned off, not a magical lapse in budget but then again the specials as of late have been getting the Other better directors off shows like Precure. we're nowhere near as bad as last year though, aka
