Well, I finished the show during winter, it was alright. I think people give it way too much credit, since the think the only good thing about it were the gigantic GONZO breasts. That being said, offering free downloads of episodes, as opposed to streams, is the way to go.

"reset the story in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo where a woman uses the Witchblade to protect a mysterious girl."
That's not what happened

awesome to see Gonzo is really on this free approach to reach fans. This one is a bit late, but hey maybe someone will want to pick up the boxset!

Nice try, ANN, but sorry to burst your bubble but Witchblade Episode 01 is NOT and I repeat, is NOT available for free downloading.
I guess the joke's on whoever reported this freebee item.

Yes it was. The episodes weren't in order, you just need to scroll down to the one that said "The Beginning" and was listed as free. Unfortunately, it's of course dubbed only.

Wow, aren't you just a rude little critter. Anyway, you're wrong. I got the free episode, though the link in ANN's article doesn't seem to work. The one in the press release does, however.

Maybe they need to check their links before posting them? Visitors to the site don't look at the press releases just for the links embedded within the news articles.

There's a difference between informing them their link doesn't work & saying they're lying about the episode being free.

No it isn't I thought that was weird too. I'm glad about what gonzo is doing but I really expected more from this show. I was wondering if they were having a contest with the guys who did ikki tousen or something. The theme song is pretty good though

I'm kind of glad that I didn't buy the DVD's ... the series isn't all that great and this is what happens when you try to anime-fy an American comic book series ... it just doesn't work.
Gonzo has impressed me with some of the shows they've done but they should have stayed away from this series ... it may have worked if they had adapted Fathom into an anime series, that would have worked ...

Depends what "mysterious girl" means... an infant that was most compatible with the Witchblade? AKA Rihoko? If you've seen the whole series, it could be interpreted that way...

Yes it is what happened. It's that the girl was too cute to be mysterious enough for some people perhaps.
Don't check that spoiler above unless you've watched the entire series. It's a friendly warning.
I actually loved the series and the second OP.

It's cool that this is a free download but I don't feel safe about giving out my credit card number for a FREE DOWNLOAD!
Any way this is great for those who have an Ipod but for the ones who don't own an Ipod.
We Cant get the free episode ? (Archos, Zen , Zune and what not.)

you can always watch it on your computer.
I guess when you think about the whole series rihoko was mysterious in a way but it's not like you knew nothing about her

Well, if you have IFC, their On Demand listings currently have the first two episodes in regular & HD. Plus as a Gonzo title, it is bound to get Crunchy eventually.
