That's actually really cool. I've read sporadic volumes of the manga, and was curious about the drama. So I guess I got something I can watch over the weekend. ^^

The manga had already been adapted into Japanese anime, a 1995 Japanese live-action film, and a more well-known 2005 Japanese television drama which spawned a sequel and a hit film. Taiwan also remade the manga into a live-action university drama titled Meteor Garden. Viz Media released the manga and anime versions in North America.


The "hit film" was licensed & released here by Discotek.

Korean dramas are becoming more and more popular as people are really starting to get interested in drama series or soap opera like shows from Asia so it was only a matter of time that the movie industry in Korea start making dramas from hit anime or manga from Japan.
