So... AX Tokyo begins in a few days. Who's going, besides me?

Hi Dan, about a group of 10 from Seattle that's part of my convention Sakura-Con are heading over. I know a few from Alberta are as well.

I'd like to attend at least once in my life, but not this year I'm afraid.. Sad to say. Oh, I'm seething with jelousy that you get to go as well. :D

I predict madness by the American guests. Pyro is going, and his latest news posts on it are quite nuts. I predict at least one American guest to glomp a Japanese guest.

Well, it was awesome. The "Anime in America" panel with Hijiri Saki and David Wise was easily the best panel I've ever seen. Regular first-time burps in organization and the dealer's room was tah-herrible, but otherwise good stuff.

Does anyone know any big online reports of the event? Also, any picture reports?

My question is this
Did anyone do more than stay the weekend and go home? If that's all people did, all I can say is: What a waste Fly 14 hours and over $1000 to go to Japan, and just see Ikebukuro and maybe a few quick Tokyo sites. Go all that way and not see the country, and instead go to a convention smaller than most US cons have been in 6-7 years with a far worse event lineup |

So I'm guessing this means "Yes, I went to Japan for only 4 days, and never left my hotel's general area"?
