Why was Evangelion Vox created?
I remember buying the CD around '98. It was my first anime related CD I bought and I fell in love with it. Today, I finally took it out of my CD stacks and took a listen to it for the first time in over two years. It kept me wondering just why the CD was made? I mean, the songs lyrical-wise really have nothing to do with Evangelion itself. But the melody of the songs, most of them are various BGM and alternate versions of songs from Evangelion. The CD itself is a pretty strange album for an anime. I notice that throughout the album, there are sound clips from End of Evangelion. And I pay attention to the lyrics of the songs. And I came up with this: most of the songs are positive in mood, while very few are negative. Was this album created to give viewers of End of Evangelion a positive view on life? I remember the first time I watched End of Evangelion fansubbed I was horribly confused for a couple days and the movie kept me wondering. I was a bit depressed but mostly confused and my days were pretty akward. After listening to Vox, the songs made me a bit cheerful during my days. I know this may sound a bit cheesy, but this is what I believe. |
