Are these videos (and animeOnline's videos, for that matter) with or without DRMs? I'd be more willing to try it out if I could also put it on my mp3 player (it plays video, too.)

Well, the I-tunes website indicates that you can download their content without DRM for an extra $0.30/download.

Sorry, but I'd rather just buy the DVDs than be forced to use terrible software (IE and WMP) to obtain and play the downloaded version. I wonder if it's a reverse-importation issue that makes most of these paid downloads English dub-only? After all, there certainly aren't technological limitations to making ~200 MB .mkv files with multiple audio and subtitle streams.

I guess this means the Death Note downloads were selling...I hope this is just a fad.

Why? As long as they still make the DVDs as well, I don't see how this could be a bad thing. I hope it does do well, because a method that works can help make up for deteriorating DVD sales.

I actually bought the first episode of Death Note a while back (I talked about it here too).
For the price they're asking, it's incredibly hard for me to resist from buying all 18 episodes (where they are currently at... moving faster than expected, really... I mean, if you don't take into consideration the fact that they only actually started it recently).
That said, I'm definitely getting episode 25 when it comes out...
I mean, for $2... why not?
But I seriously need to resist here (and build up money for the damn monthly LE release... can't aford to be lax with my cash here...)
