were there ever times where your having trouble memorizing a certain theme song or ending and you wanna have it stuck in your head for awhile to help you experiment with them like helping your with your AMV making?
so,how often or how many times do you listen to an Anime theme song untile you can have it all memorized in your head?
for example, with me, I ussially listen to at least 2 anime theme songs 10 times in one day untile I can have them fully memorized, for example, I had to listen to the Dangaioh theme song Cross Fight at least 10 times in a day and I know it by heart, I did the same thing with the Nurse witch Komugi theme song "Shooting Star to create one of my best AMV's.
and so,depending on the lengh of how long the full version of the theme song lasts, if it lasts for 3:34 mins, than I'll listen to it 10 times, and if the theme song is like 5:02 mins, than I'll listen to it at least 5 times.

It depends. If I'm trying to learn a song for karaoke or something it'll take maybe a day of listening to it constantly while looking at the lyrics; I know I've memorized it when I wake up and it's going through my head. As far as theme songs to anime I just watch go, though, I usually get it down in about 10-15 listens.
I also have the uncanny ability to name, without error, the title and artist of any song in my iTunes library after hearing only a two-second clip from the song, but that's after a few years with my current library :p

Hm.. just for the heck of it, after I got the song Ignited by T.M.Revolution stuck in my head, I spent a couple of hours listening to it and reading the lyrics. In those two hours, I memorized about 80% of the song aside from one chorus and one verse. I know bits and pieces, but I keep forgetting the order.
Other than that, there actually aren't too many other anime songs I know by heart, except maybe Shiki no Uta (from Champloo) and a handful of Bebop songs (probably because they're mostly in English, which helps a lot since it's my primary language ). I tend to remember instrumental pieces very easily, though. A friend of mine played some random tracks on his iPod boombox and I can pick them out like Murasakisuishou.

If I listen to it more than ten times a day plus I sing along with the text I will remember it at least 4 or 5 days hoho...
If the text is easy I can remember it 2 or 3 days

I can memorize the melody and the chorus part after hearing a particular song twice or thrice. For the lyrics and everything else, I need to sing along 3-4 times to memorize the whole song. It's not just for anime, it's for other songs as well. I'm not trying to brag, but everyone in my family is really talented when it comes to music.

Wahahaha I know why all of your family are really talented to music.
It's because most of Filipinos can sing too bad for my family no one can sing.
Anyways if it's only the Opening and the Ending from the anime, I can memorize it after hearing it a couple of times and if I sing along using the lyrics. But for the whole version it will take like hours to memorize.

Wow!!U must be a quite good at memorizing...
But if the short version I can memorize it like U do...
If the whole version....It depends on the lyrics don't U think..
If the lyrics easy I can remember it in a short time....
And I can remembered a song if the "reff" is the same

@nachchi1134 I think I can memorize those Opening/Ending theme quite easy because my language and Japanese are quite the same in pronouncing and reading letters and I also took Japanese Class for 2 years.

Depends on how much I like the song and if lyrics are available.

Everyone in my family is also musically inclined....except for me (honestly, I'm tone deaf) But that doesn't stop me from listening and appreciating japanese songs (in fact, I totally love L'Arc~en~Ciel). Well anyway, I guess it would take me 2-3 days to memorize an anime theme song (provided that I sing while listening to it...and I must have a copy of the lyrics). When I already memorized it, it would be stuck in my head for about a month (and I can't help but sing it too...yeah for about a month also)

It depends on whether I put in the effort to actually memorize the song. With effort and lyrics in front of me, about 5-10 times to get within 85% of memorization. Unfortunately, I hardly put in the effort to actually memorize songs these days.
Without lyrics in front of me, it depends on how catchy the song is, and how much I like it (which in turn affects how often it'll be played). Still, it'll take weeks or months, playing it multiple times a day. Case in point: after playing "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" 3-6 times a day for a couple of months, I've completely memorized it, and will probably sing it (badly) on my deathbed. The same goes for "Keikenchi Joushouchuu" (Minami-ke OP), though that was through playing sims of the song in StepMania obsessively over the span of a month or so.

I memorize things pretty quickly in general. If it's a song from an anime I watch, once I've seen the OP/ED about 10 times, I tend to remember the lyrics to the tv size without consciously trying to memorize them. From there, if I wanna do the full size, I just go over the lyrics a few times and listen to the song when I can. (I tend to obsess over songs, and then lose interest, so intense listening isn't a problem for me anyway.) In short though, I really only need to sing through a song maybe 3-4 tims with lyrics to remember it.
Of course, if the song is in English, none of this applies...

When it comes to all Anime songs in general...
It would take me about 4 times of listening to the song, and that would be it, information on the title once would give me a big clue of it, and eventually i'll remember the whole song, unless i don't listen to it overtime tho... xD
