Awesome....I so badly want to read this story, but Viz was asked to wait to release this story because Monster is still being released. I know it's the author wish in all, but shouldn't 20th Century boy be released after volume ten of manga like in Japan?
Oh well I am still looking forward to reading and seeing this....i just wish I could read the manga. I wonder if New line is still working on that Monster movie, it's been a while since any information was released concerning the film. Delta |

Wow.
That was unexpected. This'll be a very interesting movie, if it ever gets made. Hope it's better than the Death Note films. Oh, and I still want to see New Line's Monster movie. |

This is amazing. 20th Century Boys is my favourite manga ever, and this announcement makes me very happy. Chapter one probably means it will cover the first timeframe of the manga. I'm really looking forward to this. |

OH MY SHIZ. THIS IS AWESOME.
I'm excited, not going to lie. This manga totally excited me and simultaneously freaked me out, every step of the way. I guess Chapter One will go to spoiler[the giant robot battle between Kenji and Friend] and Chapter Two will finish it off? They're definitely going to have to cut a TON. Daaaaaaang, another addition to my must-watch list! |

20th Century Boys is my favorite manga EVER! Now all they have to do is make an anime out of it, and I can die of happiness.

Probably after the Manga has run it's course, I bet madhouse will do it since they did such an amazing job on Monster. |

Maybe they'll just go with the mask from the beginning. I always thought this would work best as a live action series. It might not make for a great movie. The beginning is really good, but it's just too slow for a movie, but the perfect pace for a series. Either way, I'm definitely looking forward to it...obviously(*points to avatar*) |

I really thing the best think they could do is to spoiler[go with the story until chapter 50. Yeah, i know that is one of the worst cliffhangers in the manga, but it would be awesome to see how they stop in the middle of the main battle to make the time jump.] I don't know how many movies can be done, but i would make 5: (BIG SPOILERS, DO NOT READ THIS, I REPEAT, DO NOT ***** READ THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE READ UNTIL VOL. 21. I WARNED YOU.) spoiler[I have already said what i would do with the first one. The second could go until the real tale of what happened in Dec. 31, 2000. The third would end with the death of Friend. The fourth, obviously, will be the END OF THE WORLD  and Kenji's comeback. And the fifth should be the final battle, maybe taking out some of the weakest storylines in that part.]
So, yep, they would still leave a lot of great chapters out of them, so i would even go for six movies. Obviously, thats not possible, and I think they will do just 3 movies, one for each time period in the manga: one for 1997-2000, another for 2014-15, and the last one for spoiler[3rd of Tomodachi Era].
Also, I'm not sure if it always happens, but almost everytime they make a movie about a manga, there is an anime. 20th Century Boys would be an awesome anime, and would work a lot better than a movie. I really hope they do it.

 i wanted a 20cb anime!
i have had a few bad experieces with live acion adaptions. i really hope they make it good, cause this story way to good to be destroyed by a bad movie. |
