Hmm, why would a PM I wrote go to the Outbox and not the Sentbox like everything else I've written? This might be a dumb question. I mean, is it waiting to be sent? Because I wrote it this morning and it's gone nowhere since. I didn't think a PM would get delayed like that.

All that means is this outbox are items that have left your mailbox for other person box. Items in the outbox are items the receiver hasn't check (read) yet, and you (sender) can still edit before they receive it. Once they check the message it moves into the sentbox.
