I searched for a thread like this and couldn't find one, so sorry if this has been done before.

Have you ever listened to a song from an anime and had everything you felt while watching that anime come rushing back? Probably the biggest example of this for me is Bratja from Fullmetal Alchemist. It really just sums up the whole spirit of the series, and it reminds me of all the parts where I cried.

More:

Aqua - Earth Maiden Arjuna: This was the first song I heard from Arjuna (a couple years before I actually watched the series), and since it always seemed to come on during the dramatic moments, I think of how worried I was about the characters whenever I hear it. It's a pretty song too^^

A Little Pain - NANA: Another one of those songs that really encompasses the nature of Nana and Hachi's friendship, and indeed of the whole anime. I always put this song on when I'm feeling upset or lonely, and it makes me feel a lot better.

Blue - Cowboy Bebop: Needs very little explanation. I was an emotional mess when spoiler[Spike got shot], and this song makes me think of all the feelings that built up over the course of the series.

Hidden Feelings - Matantei Loki Ragnarok: This song is very interesting because it's the action theme of the series made melancholy and played on the piano. It reminds me of the whole anime because I think of all the action and comedy along with the sadder parts.

Natsukage - Air: This song brings back all the images of summer that permeated the Air anime, and reminds me very much of the spirit of a young girl (like most of the characters).

Hagane no Kokoro (The Ed theme song, not the one off the OST) - Fullmetal Alchemist: This is another song that really shows the 'spirit' of FMA, only it's much more fun and upbeat. The messages about friendship in the song are really sweet, and the seiyuu just sound so cute singing together x)

Absolutely. I'm filled with nostalgia everytime I listen to my US dub sailormoon soundtrack, Alchemy of Love- both versions from Tenchi Muyo, the music from Key the metal Idol.

Please Save My Earth's Prologue: Time of Gold Flowing is very "in-touch" with the show. Almost the whole PSME soundtrack is just so suitable for what the series says.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni the OP which is named after the series is very creepy and sinister just like the show, I thought it was a very good summary of everything in the anime.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. It might be a bit obvious since the song is about the show, but it makes me laugh and flinch every time I listen to it Razz.

Spotter - Ghost in the Shell. I think this song was misplaced in the Be Human OST and should have been on the OST 1. It's one of the most used songs in the series, and gets played most when the scenes are intense. How could you not remember the series when you listen to this one?

I was actually singing "Somewhere in the World" (Filia's character song and the final end theme) from Slayers Try earlier for no good reason, and it brought back my love of the series. I haven't watched Slayer's Try in over a year, but just singing that song made me think of how sweet that anime is.

yup... happens to me all the time.. Whenever I hear the ending theme of Fushigi Yuugi, it just makes me feel so nostalgic and a bit depressed (I don't know why, really)

Usually it happens when the opening/ending theme is so appropriate for the anime Laughing

I heard part of the Arjuna OST before I saw the series as well. Only the piece of music I heard was "Diving." So it's kind of hard for me not to think about the series as a whole whenever I hear that piece, even though it only appears in the first two episodes.
To be honest, though, "Cloe" is both my favorite song in the series and the melody that best sums up the beauty and emotion of the story. That's why Arjuna is on my masterpiece list and "Cloe" is my username. Wink

Cloe is a fantastic song as well, although when I hear it I usually just think of the scene in episode one spoiler[with Juna and Tokio riding through the moutains on Tokio's bike.] That animation was absolutely breathtaking, and now whenever I hear the song I get the same 'thrill' that I did from that scene.

Now I wanna go watch Arjuna again x)

I get the same feeling when I hear Yume wo Sugitemo, the ending theme for Infinite Ryvius. Everytime I hear that song, I just rermember everything that the characters in the anime are going through.

The Chrono Crusade opening, Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line, reminds me of the adventerous feel of the series in the beginning. The ending theme, Sayonara Solitia, reminds me of spoiler[when Satella, Chrono, and Rosette died] in the end.

Show: Naruto
Artist: Akeboshi
Song: Wind

I re-watched some of Naruto recently, skipping around to hit all the relevant plot points right before I watched the first few episodes of Shippuuden. Not normally one for Op/End I remembered listening to this song way back when. Really a great song that identifies with the main character Naruto, he's growing up and has to find his own path.

Show: Fullmetal Alchemist
Artist: Not sure
Song: Undo

Listening to this song and watching the animation for it was moving, the words go so well with the tone of the show, how Ed wishes he could take back his one mistake but forges on in an attempt to correct it.

Those are my two favorites, there are many songs I enjoy but those two really strike me of being representative of the series.

Undo is by COOL JOKE, and I agree with you, it does fit the theme of the series very well^^
