I'll start by saying that I'll take a kamikatsu over the usual Isekai 0 effort show any day. I started watching it solely because of that amazing tractor shot and I think the adaptation staff is doing a really good job, but they're letdown by the source materials that just can't keep up with them.
I'll give an example, airplane! (1980) is a comedy masterpiece, but its also a quasi shoot for shoot remake of an earlier movie zero hours (1957), which was a serious movie not particularly noteworthy. The team behind airplane used it as a basic setup to make a spoof, but they didn't have to worry about respecting the material, they just took a scene and probably went "how do we make this cliche scene into a joke".
Kamikatsu feel hampered by its manga when it should have just not cared about it. A lot of the fan service/humor scene don't really work in practice, they're about the same quality as the usual isekai show. But the anime mostly play them straight, which means you get low level fan service/humor in between high effort creative segment. It should instead use them to poke fun at the genre, source materials be damned.
But otherwise I quite like all the strange decision, from the VN shoot to the quick pixel segment to the incredibly bizarre editing that make every scene feel like the famous taken "jump the fence but with 15 cuts" scene.

I'm more in the "so insane it's good" camp myself, and it feels like other communities are kind of embracing the show for what it is.

Humor is subjective, and if you find something unfunny, that's too bad. I think this is one of the funnier shows of this season, intentionally or not. I'm also happy that the story doesn't get too serious, because the subject matter is running a cult. Treating the plot with a dose of irreverence adds some levity to what might otherwise be an uncomfortable situation.
I agree that the pasted-on CG is disconcerting.
On the other hand, spatial continuity errors are all too common in anime that I almost ignore them. It's not a problem specific to this show.
I disagree with the idea that the voice cast is wasted. The main cast members all perform their roles well: Jun'ya Enoki as the disillusioned protagonist that nevertheless has something to protect in his new life; Akari Kitō as the airhead goddess/mascot; Kana Hanazawa as the overreacting younger sister and Sumire Uesaka as the common sense older sister; Megumi Ogata, Aoi Yūki, and Rie Takahashi as new goddesses with their own quirks and ambitions.
Ultimately, it feels like the columnists want to hate this show, but it isn't a complete flop, which ironically makes them hate it even more.

This TWIA feels like an answer to the backlash to what the reviewer has been getting where they just got another person to sit there and agree with him as the defence.
I dont think anyone really ever said the whole show is purposely being done like it is, but it also isn't as bad as they make it out to be. The biggest dip in quality was the latest episode and that was mostly due to the higher amount of off-model characters.
Like some of the things are made out to be a negative here but for some reason would be a positive elsewhere?
Regarding tone shift or whatever, thats fair although I do enjoy the more wobbly tone.

Absolutely love this show and already gave it a 10/10 after just watching 4 dubbed episodes. I love the humor in it as it reminds me of Konosuba.

I don't generally watch 'so bad its good' shows so this ends up being that for me because, well, I just never know whats about to happen. I never know if I'm about to see something that genuinely has some interesting implications, some generic isekai BS,a filtered tractor, or if that abomination of a mascot creature is going to suddenly appear. I don't know whats happening and I'm down for it.

I feel like this is one of those shows where there is a clear discrepancy between the critics opinion and the fans. I don't blame the reviewers since this show has a lot of flaws (intentional or unintentional). Its just that for some reason, the entire thing kinda "worked" when put together. If this one got a sequel, I hope that they'll get a more competent production because the novelty of what they're currently doing is definitely going to wear off.

I think most people who dislike the show have stopped considering the show at all and have moved on other then checking in on the reviews. I would agree with the sentiments for the first 2 episodes but cannot comment any thurther anymore. Other then to encourage people to share what they like and what criticism they may have who did keep up with it.

I've been a defender of this site, even most recently when I thought the reviewer of More than a Married Couple was forcing themselves to be negative about the show even when they were clearly enjoying it but this is too much.
This is essentially a hit-piece on an Anime because people disagree with your writer who is reviewing KamiKatsu. It's incredibly disrespectful to the people who made the show and the people who enjoy it, there is not an ounce of sincerity in this article. It's pretty much Mushoku Tensei again, when your writers attempted to insult the viewers for enjoying it.
Absolutely bottom of gutter journalism and incredibly disappointing.

It's a pity that someone who hates the show ended up reviewing it, when so many other people are having a blast with it. It's fun when the reviewer and the readers are all on the same page having a good time like with Hand Shakers or the mad descent or Rage of Bahamut: Virginia Soul.

I couldn't imagine a world where someone dislikes More than a Married Couple. I'll admit it here that I've watched it so many times that I nearly have it memorized at this point, lol
