The manga is ... unusual. One scene that stands out that was in a recent chapter was when spoiler[the heroine admitted that she loved her dog romantically, and her classmates were completely ok with it. I mean, seriously?] There only (non-18+) series I've seen that's as flippant about bestiality is the Behemoth reincarnation LN/manga. |

There's no market for it in the West, unlike say something with lolis. It would also have universal backlash and not just the typical Twitter backlash. |

I would agree, but Behemoth is released to the West and has pet kitten bestiality. Said pet kitten is technically a magical creature and actually sapient, but the only girl that knows that kt's a trully intelligent animal is the dragon girl. From the other girl's point of view, it's a just cat with magical powers, but the biggest hang up that fantasy society seems to have with human sex with the MC is the fact that he's a young kitten and not a fully grown cat. |

Don't be so sure. Seven Seas just recently licensed The Great Snake's Bride manga, spoiler[where the fmc and the titular snake copulate. Quite graphically. On screen. Over several pages. And yes, the snake stays in snake form. We even learn snakes have two penises... There's also vore sort of, the snake at one occasion keeps her warm on a chilly day by swallowing her.] Or take Shed! Ryugasaki-San, licensed by Kaiten books, where spoiler[the mc tries to copulate with the fmc in her lizard form. At least here it stays off-screen so we're spared the details...] So apparently there IS a market. (count me in among it)

Damn some of you all have to calm down...I mean its like Redo healer did not just come out last year or anything and that blew the minds of a lot people in the anime fandom.
Read a few chapters of this manga and honestly while its got more ecchi moments than your average anime nowadays, its not going to blow up that big....I think. |

While not outright explicit bestiality, Kemono Michi was dubbed. While played for laughs it is pretty clear that the MC has a little more than unhealthy affection for animals over any sexual interest in human/demi-human characters.

A similar scene has been made over 30 years ago with one of the Kimagure Orange Road OVAs in which Madoka and Hikaru try to seduce Kyousuke who's been transformed into Jingoro, Kyosuke's family cat. I have no doubt that Inukai-san's dog will be much more in your face with its etchi humour. |
