Seems kinda mean to take points away because she didn't draw background characters. Many mangaka have assistants and I wouldn't be surprised if they allowed them to draw the background characters for them...

You're right - a lot of mangaka do have assistants draw background characters, but apart from in Red River, you have to really look hard to tell. I took points off because it was so obvious that it felt like they weren't even trying.

I can't say I noticed the background characters being particularly different. I'll have to give it another read and see.

My friend loaned this book to me a few days ago, and I just really hated the main characters....Every time that Akira started to win me over, he suddenly made me go back to hating him by taking advantage of Mizuki. And Mizuki, despite her looks, is nothing more than an object to swoon over Akira whenever he comes by. I didn't really believe that the scene at the end had any real significance to the story. I mean, isn't Akira basically saying "I can take advantage of Mizuki, but no one else can."? Perhaps there will be more to it, but I don't believe I'll be sticking around long enough to find out....

1. The story does get better so I would suggest sticking around
2. Akira really does care for her if you didn't notice. His way of showing affection is by being forceful. There are moment's when he will take another approach, but right now they aren't together and he is trying to get her to let her feelings out. Soon in the story they go out and how he really feels about Mizuki starts surfacing. He really does love her he just doesn't know many ways besides forcefulness to show it. But he does prove he will go to the ends for her and willing to sacrifice anything. Now would a guy that's just taking advantage of a girl take all the time to do that? I think not. Also you get to find out some of his history that explains a lot about his character and why he may act the way he does. So I would advise you to stick with it and give it a chance to show you its potential.
