Bound to go down since it won't have clamp, and it's moving to Long Beach. Also didn't Otakon cap it's number of people although they had room for more?

How were these numbers counted? I know there's been some controversy over the Wizard comics conventions over counting a person who buys a three-day pass as three people instead of just one.
Good to see ACen on there. I love that con.

Out of these, I've been to Otakon and Acen.
I really wish I could have gone to Anime Weekend Atlanta though. It's a great con.
Also, In a few years, don't be suprised to see Anime Punch on this list .

It'd be nice if AnimeIowa could be on this list. It's a great con, it's just in IOWA, OMG!111!1one. Greg Ayres certainly enjoys coming every year, anyway. (It gives me warm fuzzies)

Have you been to Otakon? That place is pack to the gills. They were looking for a new city to host the con at but it looks like the Baltimore Convention center is going to add a hotel and with it more space to the convention center (mainly for Otakon because it is the biggest convention they have).

I live so close to Anime Expo, but is it really worth going to it? I've never been.

32,000 for Otakon? I take it that's after you factor in Otakon staff, Convention Center staff, cops, etc.

You know, I kind of thought Anime North seemed a bit over-stuffed this year, and now I go and find out I was at the 4th biggest con of 2006.
And if they had no idea what to do with everyone this year......

Nothing against said list except one thing:
Wrong header. There are a few european cons that can get in that list easily. Namely Salon del Manga de Barcelona (Spain) with 57000 paid entrances.

I know Comic-con (114,000 this year) counts each pass, so the 4-day pass I buy is 1 while someone who buys 2 1-day passes counts as 2
Seems to be the easiest way to count

I always figured ACen was 3rd or 4th, but never been to the other really large ones. Just boggles the mind thinking of ACen with double the people...
Still, having conventions with the population of small suburbs, it's shows that anime has really come a long way in America.

People have been saying this almost since AX began. I suppose it's got to top off eventually, but if attendence declines, won't this be the first year it's happened?
