Both were a good read/watch
We should get season 2 of Girls and Panzer.. either that or another movie would suffice.
Season 3 for Knights of Sidonia?

I wonder if this will change the minds of the people who said that Girls und Panzer was not science fiction when the nominations were announced. Probably not.
Congratulations to the creators of the GuP anime. This award is just for the movie, but I think that it reflects well on the entire franchise.
Now I am even more impatient for the movie to get a disc release here in the US. I really want to see it.
Congratulations also to the authors of the winning stories.

The novelty of actual decent things getting awards out of Japan is amusing, though when you consider this is outside the scope of the anime industry just giving itself awards for self promotion purposes like what happens with Newtype or the Seiyuu awards it kinds of lends a little more legitimacy to the process. You actually kind of have to earn these in a field that contains entries from live action, literature etc. which again is kind of a novel concept

It's always satisfying to see a quality piece of entertainment get the recognition it deserves.

Congratulations to Girls und Panzer for winning the Seiun Awards! The excitement from the show is a testament to that.

It's a shame that this Orai guy didn't live long enough to win this award. I think he would have been thrilled to have received it.

Per it's Wikipedia article, Perry Rhodan is the titular hero of a long-running German sci-fi series that began its weekly run on 9/8/61. It is published in a digest-sized booklet called the "Hefte" format, which is similar to the old American pulp mags. Its published is Bauer Media Group-subsidiary Pabel-Moewig Verlag.
As of April, 2850+ booklets with 160K pages in all have been published. It is the most successful sci-fi book series ever with over 2 billion copies sold globally, over 1/2 of which have were in its home country. Back in '86, it had its billionth copy sold.
I don't think I heard of this series until the article. It is interesting that many copies have been sold yet so many people have not heard of the series. In terms of it having
Memory Alpha (Star Trek wiki) has 40,716 pages while Wookieepedia ( Star Wars wiki) has 128,727 pages. It is curious as to how many pages a comprehensive English wiki (issue synopses, characters, terms, pics, etc.) for this series would be. An existing wiki, Perrypedia, has 37,592 articles but a lot is in German.
