This was the first Star Ocean game I ever played. I will definitely be checking this out.

Just remake Star Ocean 2, please. That's where the series peaked, as far as I'm concerned.

They already remake Star Ocean 2, sadly it was on PSP and Japan only PS4 and Vita.
Anyway, I hope they release this game and 1 and 2 over here. I really want to play them again.

Let me know if I misread it or missed it, but is this currently for japan only? or has it been announced for worldwide release?

Ahhhh, my teenhood. Humping the walls for movement items, following a guide to ensure I ended up with Albel Nox in the end, beating an endless amount of hedgehogs for easy experience....good times. I poured many hours into this game in high school. Albel was one of my original husbandos, lol.
I would love to revisit this one if it's released stateside.

People have been asking for this for a long time. It's finally happening.

This is one of the worst written games of all time and the 2nd half of the story made the devs drop the old canon wholesale for the next 2 entries. Lol. I can´t wait to hear what current game critics have to say on the "big twist" (look it up) and the remaster still looks like a Dreamcast game with higher resolution.
The core gameplay stood the test of time but demanding much more than 20$ will be highway robbery, unless the equally solid 4th game will be packed it.

I tried playing this but ended up losing interest. This is great news for fans though!

Oh I'm 100% going to buy this, just wish they did a better job updating some of the environment textures and models.

I'm not being pedantic here as it's a rather important distinction, but it's not a "remaster," it's just an upscale being emulated. An example of a remaster is the upcoming release of Final Fantasy XII.
Also that "big twist" was awesome...also kind of stupid...but mostly awesome.

This is my most favourite video game ever. It had trophies before they were a thing #hipster
I wonder if it's going to come to North America. If I ever get a PS4, I'll definitely check it out if it does come here!

I totally agree, but I still love the game

Everything you said, except for me it was my early twenties. I still haven't technically finished, I'm playing 4D mode and am stuck on Gabriel Celesta. I've been playing it on and off for years though.

No, it's still technically a remaster, just not an ambitious one. The original didn't have trophy support, which would require them to alter the code.

I would argue you ARE being pedantic with such a distinction. The game is being run through emulation, it has not been remastered for the system itself, which was my point.
