That is acceptable, Now Nintendo fans dont need to worry about its fav franchise appearing in a shameful way or worst, exclusively on phones.

Seems to make the most sense. Small puzzle games on the phone should really broaden the audience to kids who play on thier parents phones and tablets. Which is probably a good chunk of kids today.

I think it should be pointed out that the linked article is still basically rumor at this point (albeit from an often reputable source). But it won't be final until Iwata addresses stockholders on the 31st.
Very interesting times for Nintendo though. My general fear is putting content of any sort on Smartphones will harm Nintendo's Hardware business. If there's a chance of Nintendo turning developer for other platforms, people won't see dedicated Nintendo hardware as desirable. And just wait for the inevitable transition to a software only company.

(Ding!) We have a winner. I think that the deflection point / point of no return may have been reached for Nintendo. Fans already may be waiting for them to transition their properties to 3rd party hardware, so new hardware sales are anemic for the WII U and the spiral starts.

The catch in this situation is that, at best, Nintendo will only be disseminating demos of their games on smartphones--and only that.
But, yeah, this here is a slippery slope. I can only hope Nintendo knows what they're doing.

For a minute, I thought Nintendo is meeting the same fate as SEGA and Wii U is Nintendo's Dreamcast. Nice to know it's not for now.
