Well at least we know he's doing SOMETHING. Anyways, I look forward to seeing him tackle a different genre.

Yea, looks like the editor just fixed the post. They said Viz was releasing the 37th volume, and that's why I was confused. |

Aha, so this is why Berserk has been on hiatus for so long. Well if he wants to branch out and make other mangas, it's fine I guess. As long as he doesn't abandon Berserk completely.

Are you sure it's not supposed to be "Gigantomachia"?

At least this explains the long hiatus and as long as he's got plans to carry on berserk its ok, i'll take a look at his new story with much interest.

At least he's going to carry on after. I think the series has been going for too long to be dropped. I hope he doesn't try to wrap things up too quickly if he wants to start a new project full time.

I know he hired staff to help him ink and shade and letter. Hopefully we see longer monthly volumes. I couldn't see berserk going for more then 10 more volumes.

In a word, yes. I'll spare the details/spoilers.
I can only hope it's only 10 more volumes at this point. I would have agreed had spoiler[Griffith not have been reborn and reformed the Hawks.] But even then I figured that 10 more volumes would have been enough, if spoiler[the world didn't suddenly become a fantasy land filled with magical creatures.] That's a mighty big genie to put back in the bottle. Basically I think Berserk has in some ways strayed far away from telling its original story and seeing as how they are still on a boat spoiler[in Volume 37] I'm wrestling mentally how everything can come to a reasonable end inside of 10 volumes, which is possible as long as Miura doesn't suddenly throw a crazy storyline curveball as he's done in the past. The scenarios I don't want to see are that he either loses interest and just brings everything to a hasty conclusion or he just plain runs out of life points and everything comes to an abrupt ending. A story this epic really calls for a proper ending, not one that's been rushed to a half-assed conclusion or worse, just stops because of a fickle artist or an unTimely demise. |
