Im a little curious about this list. VGchartz has the sales of RE 2 across all system topping 6.5 million, its has 5.82 million on the ps1 alone. Then again I would assume Capcom is aware of its own sales.

VG Chartz is actually very well known for being innaccurate. They try their best to make educated guesses, but their numbers aren't very specific

/sigh.
And people wonder why Capcom continues to ruin RE in spite of the backlash they've been getting since RE5 (or 4, if you listen to the series' original survival horror fans). Apparently because people continue to buy the games regardless of how bad they are. ... oh wait, I'm one of those people. Gdi...

I can see why RE4 isn't on the top since Capcom for some reason divided each version.
Still, Capcom acknowledged RE6 failed to beat their expectatives which makes a lot of sense.

Which is a shame. Had Re6 been an unarguably good game it would have been a huge seller.
It still sold well obviously, but it really could have been a mega hit.

That's my thoughts as well resident evil 5 did not get no where near the amount of ports that re4 did nor was it as good. Hell resident evil 4 is on the gamecube, ps2, wii, pc, xbox 360 hd, ps3 hd, ios and android.
Speaking of resident 6 being a failure even wal-mart has marked the game down the 20 dollar mark now.

RE6 is not a failure. It's thier 3rd top selling game.

For a game that has only been out for a full year and to be marked down as low as greatest hit games is not a good sign. I liked parts of resident 6 okay but to me it wasn't fun aside from seeing sherry again. If you like the game that's fine by all means enjoy it but even capcom said it failed to live up to their sales expectations.

RE6 is a terrible game.
Not living up to sales expectations does not mean it's a failure. It means they had extreme sales expectations for it, probably because RE5 did so well and RE is their big series. It doesn't change the fact that it is their 3rd highest selling game according to them. For the game to be some sort of failure they would have needed to lose some amount of money on the investment on RE6 and have the game be unprofitable. It wasn't. It just wasn't as profitable as they wanted meaning they had to lower their expected profits, but I doubt RE6 was a bomb. Can't say that for things like DMC though.
RE Revelations HD also didn't meet sales expectations.

re5 was a big let down.... i had some faith capcom could do some things right, seeing as how the would be returning to basics but alas.... its just re4 africa edition...... i love re4's mercenaries mode though, in re4 its more or less the same thing.
