I know it's a bit early to ask about a DVD that's not coming out until December 5, but does anyone know what the features or goodies that will be included in the english release of the Hellsing OVA special edition?

And if you don't know what will be included in the english release does anyone have any info on what was included in the JP special edition release?

THanks in advance!

Where'd you hear about even the commentary? It's just, there's a lot of stuff I've missed (was at camp for a month). For instance, I heard that they screened the dubbed 1st episode of the Hellsing OVA, but I never heard anything about it good or bad.

I believe they are using the same voice actors as the original Hellsing dub, in which case there isn't much need to say whether it is good or bad (which is pretty subjective anyway).

To be honest, I think they're about Equal. The Japanese VA, George Nakata, does have quite a considerable resume and has a really suprising, deep voice, considering it's set in England and it's originally a Japanese product (therefore being in Japanese), he really does amazingly well.

Tell us why. Simply saying Freeman is better than Nakata with no kind explanation makes you just another spammer.

By the way, I prefer Nakata only because his voice stands out so much among the many seiyuu I've come to hear since watching anime. It's a deep, resounding voice that's strong, yet a bit melancholy, and always takes precedence on screen over anyone else (prime example is Gankutsuou).

However, while I don't think there'd ever be anyone that could dub him over, I would say Freeman is the closest in terms of "translated inflection." I don't know, if Freeman were just a little older, I think he'd be a lot more believable. It sounds like he tries too hard some times.

Gankutsuou is a prime example Nakata talent. His part in the series is so good, that it's next to near impossible to watch the dub.

Geneon also showed new material from episode 2 that hadn't even been out in Japan! I can't wait for this series to hit the US, it's definetly going to be on my X-mas list.

Spammer!? Im offended.
Rolling Eyes Sorry its just I feel that Crispin most of the time can make that certain deep sinister voice I know and love.I mean I totally remember so clearly in some of the last episodes of Crispins(Alucards) lines that just stuck with me and have stayed with me to this very day.But I think Ill break out the old Dvd's and watch the entire series in japanese and compare the VA's voices again.

Uh, the first DVD hasn't even come out yet and the second episode is just about to come out in Japan. It will be years before a box set will come out.

At the rate and such this is going at, you'd be better off getting the single discs if you want to own/see it in the next 12 years. Besides, this is one of the occasions where the actual money from sales is pumped back into production of future episodes.

I think that there referring to this boxset.....at least I think so.

So let me try to set you straight Hiel77 the OVA are different from the TV series as in the art is different and the story in the TV series doesn't follow the Manga very well after the Valentine brothers....What the OVA is trying to do is to make a completely faithful version including art and storyline.
Till next time,

As of today (8-23-2006), there is 1 episode. Episode 2 comes out on the 25th in Japan. If one volume of manga is approximately one episode of the OVA, that's 8 episodes planned so far. It just depends on when Hirano wants to finish writing it.
