I'm really looking forward to this show. The movie and earlier series were outstanding.

If nothing else it should be interesting.

vampire-themed media (not anime specifically; in general) is often very tacky, D-class production in terms of story and visuals... is this piece is _not_ cheesy, good taste work?..

I didn't like the first anime but maybe I'll like this.
I've decided to be optimistic.

As much as I love Production I.G. and CLAMP, I just can't get myself to look forward to this show. I only caught the first 10 or 20 episodes of Blood+ on tv here and I just didn't care for it at all. If I hear great things about this one then I'll give it a shot, if not then eh.

Liked the first movie and loved Blood+. This looks like it could be fun...

Blood+ was exceptionally good, and I actually prefer the character designs and animation style of it as compared to this.

I'm reserving judgment on this one. Blood+ was entertaining, but nowhere near the look and darkness of the original anime, Blood: The Last Vampire. The live-action movie version was passable, but was hampered by the special effects, especially when it came to visualising the vampires/demons. I'm still waiting for something to come out that's of the same caliber as the original work.

Cool outfit.
Honestly I have no set expectations to this series, I on the camp that loves the first movie better but I don't really mind to see as many permutations they can give to the character.

Kind of on the fence.
The first Blood was too short and absolutely heartless.
Blood+ was a bit too long had so much heart it ended up being kind of shmaltzy.
Here's hoping this one can reach a happy middle ground?

So, question. I've seen the original Blood: The Last Vampire movie, but haven't seen Blood+. Is this a direct sequel to that? Anybody know? If I tried to jump in and watch this, would I be totally lost?

Last Vampire and Blood+ are each in their own seperate continuities (not unlike Ghost in the Shell and Stand Alone Complex), so no reason why this can't be it's own thing as well.
Considering that Blood+ ends with Saya going into a 40(?) year old hibernation, it'd kind of be difficult for this to be a sequal to it.

I hope that, unlike Blood+, it's not 26 episodes worth of story stretched over 50 episodes.
Blood+ would have been an excellent series if it were about half as long.
