He violated the rights of those girls. He deserves all the rape and pegging he gets in prison.

Nice way to promote rape culture there. No one and I mean no one deserves to be raped ever.

I see where you`re coming from, but it can be a deterrent. If child rapers know they`ll be raped before being beaten to death in prison, we`d probably see less child rape in the world.

Rape is not a deterrent, it's a traumatic criminal act. Think about it, by the logic you just provided, let's just use rape as a "deterrent" for every crime, then there'll be no crime!

seems pretty straight forward if he used identifiable minors for the works. he's going away.

I don`t think it would be appropriate for non-violent crimes (pot, theft to feed your family, jaywalking etc) but in some cases, prison justice has its place.
I certainly wouldn`t want to put this asshat up in a plush prison with a gym, Internet access and the luxuries of modern life that most homeless people can`t enjoy.

From what I can understand of the jiji article, it appears the issue is that what was created was something of a photo with a digital mask or a composite of images with what appears to be described as photo-like realism. Perhaps he had actual photos that he then painted over and thought he could go about selling that way?
One of the justifications that was given for the United States PROTECT Act proscribed prohibitions on art images that appeared to be child porn was the fear that "It's not a photo, it's just great CGI" would prevent prosecution of actual child predators because state prosecuters would have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that every image was in fact a photo, and not artificially created.
It's a difficult line to walk. I have to imagine if the prosecutors think this will stand up under the current laws, they either think they've got him dead to rights with something that will be accepted as the equivalent of a photograph, or they think they can intimidate a guilty plea out of him.

It's not appropriate for any crime. Any rape should be handled in the same way, in prison or not.

Do we know if the reference photographs were pornographic in nature? They may not have been, meaning the rest would have had to come from imagination.

But this article never actually blatantly says that it has obscene material- just that he used images of girls under 18 as reference. Could be the fact that he used the reference photos and distributed the works? I dunno. Best not to jump to conclusions and assign violent acts on the suspect.

We need specification as to whether the pictures of girls under 18 were pornographic in nature or not.
If not, then the computer graphics had no harm intended; however, if the pictures were of a pornographic nature, then yes, this is pedophile-influenced and the police had every right to arrest him.

Nowhere in here does it say he actually took the pictures. Japan had naked child models for years. Also someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it legal to own child pornography in Japan as long you don't distribute it? I'm guessing that's what he was arrested for. I don't know, I don't like to get into this scuzzy subject.

Well, specifically they say he was arrested for selling the images, and that they were "made' with photographs of individuals under the age of 18. Ergo, my guess is that we're discussing a photo composite or paint over.

Yeah I know that part, but what I'm confused about is whether they were personal photographs he was using, or was he sketching over Japanese model stuff. The former would be a more serious offense.
