Bummer, but at least, this will help me save the $$ and Funimation could fix whatever issue they have on hand to make it better.

I looked at Funimation's upcoming release schedule and it is disappointing.

There is no High School dxd, and no Haganai. Not to mention C3 and Oretachi look unlikely to be on indefinite hiatus. And now Zombie is pushed back two months.

It's a shame they are not releasing the titles, the already licensed titles I might add, that I am very interested in buying.

So no Blu-ray for this season either huh :/ Oh well. There's only three releases from Funimation that I know for sure I'll but this year: Is This a Zombie?, Haganai, and Future Diary

Still need to get to seeing this second season... read/heard it wasn't as good as the first season, though. That'd be a bummer.

Still, better a quality release in spite of what Kadokawa et. all's limitations than the releases of the other big player on the home video market Rolling Eyes. Now if only they could do something about the inherent quality of the series under their belt lately... save for Lupin III and Psycho Pass, and maybe-FMA-Brotherhood-I-guess, I can't think of any other quality-smart and/or insta-classic titles off the top of my head that they've acquired within the past couple years. (LITERARY AND ARTSY BIAS FOR LITERARY AND ARTSY THINGS INCOMING.) It's either been crude, maybe-fun but pandering-to-the-bottom-denominator, or in-your-face/nonsensical DRAMA a la (presumably, based on some viewing and reading) Guilty Crown and Mirrai Nikki. Sentai, they've released Penguindrum and Kids on the Slope within 6 months of each other, which I would like to imagine as epoch-making (ah, if only!), and before long there'll be Aku No Hana and probably some other medium-elevating material I can't exactly recall right now.

Not to say I have zero appreciation for some of the stuff put out by FUNI (though that "appreciation" hasn't translated into any sales from them other than some their movies, I'm afraid). It just that the ones dear to my heart lately, and the ones that I assume will be remembered years down the road... well... haven't come from them.

I've heard nothing about Future Diary coming this year but I hope this is true I want that dvd badly.

For one thing it's not up to you or me to decide what's good enough to sell on dvd and second there are loads of people who want things like Future Diary and other types of well known animes. Funimation might not have highly praised anime but that won't stop them from providing new releases for their fanbase.

Funimation is such a douche bag company. They release everything on major delays. They release dvds saying no blu ray will come out, people buy them, and then they announce they are releasing the blu ray. WTF. I mean seriously how long is it going to take them to release dxd, and when is the inevitable index/railgun blu ray coming. And how long have they been working on Zombie 2, to have delays at this point. There work is usually sub par anyway, so I dont know what issue could arise for the delay. Maybe they will finally stop using the word sissy in every God translation.

Taking it a little too personally, aren't you? Didn't you already see my disclaimer in all-caps that basically went "IT'S MY OPINION, MAN"? I was simply making what I felt a reasonable observation that's been simmering for a while within myself. Hell, I even gave some benefit of the doubt to the anime whose fans you seem to be far too eagerly defensive of.

Jeez, I was trying to be fairly balanced without being dishonestly PC, dammit.

I never took it personal but Funmation is still on top for a reason. It might be for the right and wrong reason but just because they are not doing what people want means they will be out of business anytime soon but it does show a change that could turn the tide in the future. It will all come down to if people can still provide them company and if they step on people's toes more and more with time.

I'm still holding out hoping that eventually the (presumably) Japanese bluray restrictions will be removed once reverse import fears are not much of a concern.

The Anime Corner Store also reports that Funimation will offer a new Blu-ray Disc version of the previously released Heaven's Lost Property Season 2 Complete Collection on June 25 for US$44.98.

Not sure why RACS is announcing this like it's new news, unless the MSRP is dropping to $44.98?

Funimation mentioned at a Con(Sakura-con?) back in march that Future Diary, Sankarea & Haganai would all be getting releases later this year. But it wasn't mentioned when exactly, so for all we know, that could mean December.

It's news because Funi released it DVD-only earlier this year, so that's kind of a slap in the face to some of those who already ordered it.

the blame for most of these issues falls on the the license holders in Japan.
