Err... you have to delete the other thread okay? *the double one*

Anyway, from what I can infer *or whatever the word is*

-Cowboy Bebop
-Evangelion
-FLCL
-Trigun
-Gungrave
-Samurai Champloo
-Miyazaki movies
-Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
-Berserk
-Naruto

... Scryed?

Also, do the 4kids/edited stuff count?

People need to add more and come up with better evidence... I'm just making some assumptions based on general observations *most of the stuff I listed aired on TV*

So cool, what exatcly is popular in Japan?

I'm only really sure of:

-Detective Conan
-Miyazaki Movies

anything else?

I'm thinking Cowboy Bebop and Berserk are by far the most popular ones out there.

And DKL you're forgetting the obvious ones, DBZ, Pokemon, Yuhigo.

EDIT:

Btw, I think this is goaled specifically to US citizens, so the "Recommend me" thread wouldn't work.

Well you seemed to find that out already.

But on your post, I don't think Naruto has aired in the US at all. I think the series just recently got licensed actually.

My question is , how much further can u fall?
Asking whats popular is like asking what opinion should i have .
Anime should be watched and the opinion formed on the individuals own steam and not stolen !

Ee~!
That's so different in USA!
Actually the Animes listed above are... already not popular here (Japan).

As I observe from friends, and the charactor goods, and topics posted on the web.
The popuplar animes are:

-The Prince of tennis
-BLEACH
-Mahou Sensei Negima
-school rumble
-keroro
-Hakaren
-gundam SEED DESTINY
-Erementar Gerad
-Inuyahsa

Around these titles.

Maybe the view points and love points are different among people in different areas~

And for girls, the most popular animes are:
-The prince of tennis (<--a lot of people colsplay!)
-LOVELESS
-Gundam seed series
-BLEACH
-Keroro
-Saint Beast
-Harukanaru Toki No Nakade

I'd point you FIRST to the official S-CRY-Ed homepage but it contains spoilers, so you may want to peruse ANN's search feature. Goto Encyclopedia >> Anime >> S >> and scroll down.

After browsing through your thingy, yeah, your damn right, sure is different Shocked

Wait, is GUNDAM SEED popular here? I'd assume that it is... but what's this I hear about it tanking in the ratings? *Might've been BS*

I also think that BLEACH is popular here... but I'm not sure

What about POKEMON? Isn't that still popular? The front page has the movie rankings, it does pretty well apparently

What about FULL METAL ALCHEMIST?

Wait, it'd help to get some ratings though, I remember seeing some JAPANESE ratings someplace where DETECTIVE CONAN is still on top or something

Hakaren is a mis-spelt Hagaren, which is the Japanese abbreviation for Fullmetal Alchemist.

you know what's ironic? Cowboy Bebop is a huge phenomenon now, but it actually floppped in japan.
