I first recognized her awesomeness when I watched Phantom Requiem... and while I voted for Kana Hanazawa, I was secretly hoping Yukari Tamura would get it. But then again, she never really got that much exposition, and considering her time in the industry, Kana got considerably more.
Miyuki - sexy
Kana - cute
Yukari - goddess

Miyuki won! Could not be happier about that! Smile

She has one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard.

I'm currently playing Catherine and she is so amazingly perfect as the title character. Her voice is just so effortlessly sexy.

Well, Miyuki did a fantastic job as Iwasawa in Angel Beats (despite it not being a main role on the show, she was my favorite character). So even though my pick didn't win, it still was a good choice.

Miyuki is certainly deserving of the recognition. And upon looking her up I'm realizing she's the seiyuu for Beezlebub (baby Beel) - didn't know that. I think that role is harder than it seems and she's great.

So her range is:
    Beezlebub
    Lag Seeing
    Perrine Clostermann
    Celty

Nice.

Yup, Miyuki was kinda expected. Helpful list there, ToyNN. Let me just add Ayane Yano from Kimi ni Todoke.

We should also make mention of all others who won. Mayumi Tanaka! Finally! From the subtle Koenma in YYH to the noisy Luffy, yup, she broadens it. No question where Junko Takeuchi got her award (-datte bayo). Just wished she was recognized for her female voice (which is really cute, btw!) And I think Minami Takayama was more deserving of Tanaka's award: Conan, then Nabiki from Ranma, then Hao from Shaman King. Now that's "broadening!"

But I wanted to see Kujira win something! I really thought Orochimaru was voiced by a guy!

PS: did Megumi Hayashibara win anything for her achievements, yet? She might've been overlooked...
