Their Sonic series (which has run for well over a decade) is a favorite with kids and has had a cult following for years, so it's nice to see them taking on another video game comics character- I loved their kids version of the Ninja Turtles comics when I was a kid personally. Both VIZ and Udon have released manga adaptions of different incarnations of the franchise- it looks like Archie's going with the classic version to start things off. The art in the preview looks very fun, using an animation-ish approach to colouring that suits the Capcom designs. |

Holy hell that looks pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure it's already better than the lousy start the Sonic comics had all those years ago when I was still getting comics at the local supermarket. Nothing against the series as a whole, mind you, as it got pretty damn good later.
A friend of mine got excited back when Dreamwave did that unfinished Mega Man comic years ago. Too bad they were a fly by night studio run by a conman that doesn't pay his artists and then flys off to Hong Kong. With Archie you know it will last. |

I'm guessing Udon's manga has been doing well, given Archie giving a stab at it (I'm curious if they'll be handling any art for Archie at any points too, since they do a lot of differnet stuff for Capcom asides from the comic/manga publishing). It does look to be filling a nice niche of kids comics that manga overlooks a little- VIZ's and Udon's kids manga lines are great, but this adds a bit more reach like the Sonic comic has. I'd love to see Archie take a stab at the Turtles again, or maybe a title like Bakugan [though I'm guessing they see Megaman as having more staying power]
