I'm posting this here because it will affect some future content on the site.

So it's kinda like "feed-forward."

At the end of this month I will be going to Japan for 10 days or so.

The first 6 days I will be with Pop Japan Travel and will becovering the tour to give readers a bit of an idea about it. We figured there's definitely ANN readers that will be interested in this kind of tour.

Followig the PJT Tour, I will be spending a few extra days in Japan, and I'm trying to decide what to do with them... all for the benefit of the site.

I'm thinking of going to Ghibli Museum, Satsuki and Mei's home (if I can get tickets), the Suginami Animation Museum, and a few anime studios.

So I'm looking for suggestions. What would you like to read about?

Did you apply for "foreign" tickets to the Totoro house? It looks like all the first month's tickets available within Japan have been sold out (see front page news article yesterday), and the first round of foreign applications closes in 2 days' time - too late for you to mail one off now, I think.

PJT is going to Square Enix, right? Please write that up Smile I'd definitely be interested in seeing something about Suginami Animation Museum if you can get yourself there. I haven't figured out how to get there, myself. What about the Bandai one as well? Smile Isn't there a Matsumoto one somewhere...

Oh, and could you report on TAF? I'll be there, but my Japanese is non-xistent, so I'm reduced to looking at pretty pictures and picking up flyers for friends... Embarassed

Hopefully I can attend as press, avoiding the need to go through a lottery. I sent them an enquiry regarding it and hopefully I'll get an answer within a few hours.

If not, the dealine for the period that I will be there is March 6th. I can courrier it there on time for that.

I will definitely be covering everything that PJT goes to, including Square Enix and TAF.

I'll be spending an extra day at TAF, but my Japanese is also completely non-existent. I've been meaning to start Japanese lessons for a while now. <sigh>

I'll look into the Bandai Museum and Matsumoto Museums, but I don't want to spend all my free time at museums, so I might limit to only 2...

I think it'd be cool if you could hit a few rock concerts while you're there, if you're into J-rock at all. I'd definitley read that. Or you could always visit the Hide Museum!

I've always promisied myself that if I ever visit Japan, I'll be sure to go see the old warlord castles, they look absolutley amazing, and go see a few shrines. So, uh, if you go do that....that'd be cool. :D

Do you have anyone going with you that can act as a translator? It probably would be good when you're at TAF to hook up with some of the Japanese anime news industry to see about any type of official hookup with their industry. That could mean more official content for both ANN and ANN PA. Specifically, going after Animedia or Animage. I'd love to see a picture of all the ANN staff that will be there together. You could set up meetings with some of the government officials about the exports of anime/manga outside of japan(jetro, Ministry of Economic Development, etc...).
Oh, try out the new Full Metal Alchemist ride at Universal Studios.

Hmm does Aka-san have much Japanese? You could see if he'll hang around with you on Saturday (I'll be there Sunday; coming back from Nagoya on Saturday).

Maybe you could give your impressions of Tokyo Tower (vaguely anime related)? Sorry, I'm really stretching here as most of my suggestions are not necessarily anime (and therefore not really site) related...

How about doing (or at least witnessing) hanami in Ueno Park? Just to compare the romantic scenes in anime with the realities on the ground?

It's not at all romantic in real life. It's mostly people laying on the ground drunk off their asses...

When AIC had it's English forum, the Admin there said that if you gave them a request in advance they would be glad to give you a tour of their studio when in the area. Their existing website is http://www.aicanime.com/
There is a map of how to get to their studio which is in a Tokyo suburb. Tell them Mohawk52 sent ya. Wink
