Hatsue KATO (加藤 はつえ but "no source") is known under more than one kanji name.
The Hatena page for 加藤はつえ credits her for Love Hina Again, Stellvia and Negima whereas D2_STATION credits for Love Hina Again use 加藤 初重. Hatena explicitly mentions "旧名は加藤初重", i. e. "加藤 初重" is her birth name; former Reed Production member, now belongs to XEBEC. The Marumegane page for Stellvia even credits her under both kanji names for different tasks (prop design vs. animation director). 加藤はつえ: 12 hits at livedoor wiki, 8 hits at Wikipedia, Allcinema with 1 credit 加藤 初重: 20 hits at livedoor wiki, 6 hits at Wikipedia, Allcinema with 2 credits and reading かとう・はつしげ = KATOU Hatsushige (!) which would be the other possible EDICT reading for 初重. I don't trust this "Hatsushige" reading of Allcinema, even more so as Allcinema also has a page for 加藤 はつえ but with just 1 credit (Buso Renkin). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Excluding the "Heat Guy J" credit the two time intervals are disjoint so this person apparently switched from her rare birth name (no 初重 in ANN!) to hiragana in 2003 (shortly after having been promoted from key animator to animation director/designer) but used her birth name again in 2010 for a minor key animation task (just 1 episode). I have set "Birth name: Hatsue (初重) Katou (加藤)" but I would also like to get both kanji names available for kanji contribution as her birth name has more credit references than the one currently set (which may even be outdated considering the 2010 credit). Can "also known as" do the trick? Note that Hatsue KATO (#15811) is a special case at ANN as she already has been merged with Katou HATSUE (#15592, wrong name order). Now if I were trying to be tricky I could try setting 加藤 初重 as the kanji name for this "other half" of her... would this be an abuse of the system? Or even a way to elegantly solve the problem in question? (I would of course prefer a method to get all birth names available for kanji contribution...) Besides, "加藤" should be "Katou", not "Kato" (one of the few "destructive romanizations"). |
