Oh boy, Casshern Sins! Thanks Funimation, that makes my day. This and Bandai's Kannagi announcement has made this a good week. Hopefully Casshern Sins will find a quick release over here, and of course since it's Funimation, dub guarenteed.
Can't say I'm super excited about Eden of the East but I know it's a pretty popular series so it will make some money for Funimation.

Higashi no Eden~
Easily one of the best anime in recent years, and the best of its season (arguably in competition with Hagaren 2, I suppose). Definitely putting money down for this series. Funi, you better do a good job!!! ><

Not at all surprised that Eden of the East was picked up by Funimation so quickly. Its top caliber animation and great character chemistry only make this series more appealing to dubbing companies. While the plot, is a tad odd and the series will cater more to hardcore fans it also has elements that many Western fans will be used to. Essentially, its a psychological thriller with bit of political intrigue thrown in, a type of show that's normally a hit in the US. The story isn't exactly the most linear or the coherent at times, but it was a blast to watch and analyze. Can't say it would be a good show to recommend to non-fans, due to its extreme eccentricity, but fans will surely gobble it up quickly.

Considering Funimation were unable to obtain the rights to the original OP of Speed Grapher, I'm worried if the same will happen in the case of Eden of the East; they both used songs by famous western bands- Duran Duran and Oasis respectively.

If it doesn't contain the opening then it's a no sale.
Likewise if it doesn't have a Blu-ray release, because I'm not settling for a 2009 released HD anime on Funimation's stupid crammed DVDs w/ 7-8 episodes each.
Good news with the Dragon Boxes though.

Cool! Eden of the East was easily the best show of spring. Hope the license covers the forthcoming movies as well.
It'll be sad if they have to change the opening title music. I'm not even a fan of Oasis, but I can't imagine the show without it.

Oh, I hope so! That's an awesome song...

Using "Girls on Film" I think was a TV use /DVD use issue because the Japanese DVD release of Speed Grapher didn't have it.
It seems very logical that everyone involved would want the use of the original OP.

Awesome, Eden of The East was a favorite of mine. I may not have finished it, but at least now I can finish it in 2010. Still a little disappointed no one announced Toradora yet though.

Absolutely fantastic. Revived SF and one of the very best 2009 shows? Both Casshern and Eden of the East are sure purchases for me. Very well done.
I'm sure lots of fans will appreciate the Dragon Box news, but personally I'm holding out for the inevitable Dragonball Kai release.

This is not a good sign. I hope "Falling Down" with its opening animation is retained.
I also hope that both titles (Casshern SINS and Eden of the East) are released in blu-ray as they both have R2 blu-ray versions out now. Eden's vol. 1 BD is releasing on 7/29.
