I am highly excited about this, and plan to visit the Circus when it's next plausible to do so (which should be tomorrow, as I forgot today).
The notion that modernisation is of paramount importance to a financial capital is something I strongly believe in, so it pleases me somewhat to see contemporary international ideas such as this being introduced. My only resentment is the number of upmarket shopping bags being carried around by Oxford Street regulars. It takes up space for us less burdened pedestrians. |

Toronto got a "scramble crossing" at Yonge & Dundas a couple of months ago.
I guess the idea is catching on. |

Did you know that Mayor Boris is distantly related to our King George III? The same mad King what gave up the colonies to the riff-raff?

I visited, and was quite impressed. That said, the length isn't comparable to that of the famed Shibuya crossing, and certain pedestrians were turning a foolish blind eye to the rules of the system. Still, 'tis quite a pleasant addition, especially with the Regent Street Christmas decorations in sight.
