I think I can determine this: From a CrunchyRoll post I did on the Xam'd section in January.
"When does a story classify as romance? There are essentially two forms of romance in anime genre speaking: there are those where romance is a main plot or supporting main plot (many shoujo series and the rather hated harem genres) and then when it is a secondary side plot (Evangelion and DBZ have romance in minor pieces but Eva stresses romance more than DBZ).

"I concluded that a way to tell whether romance is a main or side plot is this: Romance in the main plot will emphasize main two characters having a strong and often childhood connection and emphasizes music in the opening and closing credits to display it. Tower of Druaga is romantic in the main plot. Another Gonzo title, Ragnarok the Animation, is a romance in the main plot but some may think with its action genre that it will be a side plot. Fullmetal Alchemist's Edward Elric is childhood friends with Winry Rockbell. Breaking the sexy dumb blonde stereotype, Winry is sexy, smart, and she kicks ass. Alchemist has romance in the side plot type. What's cooler

"That being said, is Xamdou romantic as a side plot or a main plot/supporting main plot?

So, dormcat, I added "romance" to its genre and cited http://anime.mikomi.org/series/1872.html because it had a "romance" tag under its keywords section.

Have you seen Xam'd under my MyAnime? If not, why ask me?

Just follow the simple rule:
Quote:
Ask yourself if you would watch this title only for the X, where X is the genre you want to add.

And next time if you summon me in this way it's better with something you're not sure and have listed two or more sources to compare with, not something you've "determined" and done.

Wow, that's the biggest anime list with the most partially seen anime I could imagine of.
But then again, I don't go around inspecting everyone's lists.

Wait, FMA for romance? Having romance in a series doesn't mean that's a theme or genre...

Dessa, you are correct. However, I still think Xam'd is romantic in both theme and genre.
