Why does it seem that every year the theme song award and the network award go to something I consider unlistenable and far to gimmicky respectively and yet the TV and movie awards are usually something I can kind of consider worthy of some accolade?

The top 5 candidates come from the fan vote with the judges doing the final vote.
I liked the song. I wish we could see the list of nominations for each category. |

1) Glad to see Eden of the East get an award. it was a great series, and really deserved it. Hopefully the movies will give it the good ending its TV run merited. And hopefully Oasis won't be complete jerks and will let Funimation use their song for a cheap price.
2) I will be blunt: I did not like Wall-E as much as many of Pixar's other works (I love this year's Up), but I won't deny that it was a damn good movie, and in a year without Satoshi Kon or Hayao Miyazaki, it's small wonder it became a contender. Wall-E is not Japanese animation or entertainment unless you count the Japanese dubbing of it.

I'm glad to see Wall-E and Eden of the East getting awards. Both were fantastic. Wall-E may not be a Japanese animation, but it was darn good. I don't think anyone would complain if a Japanese animation won an Academy Award. I'd like to think of this as the same thing in reverse.

Ponyo was last year. And why do people keep calling EotE "East of Eden?"

Because we're typing too fast and not paying attention. Thanks for catching the mistake, I'll fix it. |

Great going for Haruhi-chan. It certainly deserves an award for not giving Haruhi fans what the newest season gave them mercilessly: the middle finger.

It'll be interesting to find out, considering Oasis have officially broken up following the exeunt of Noel Gallagher. |

I asked that same question elsewhere and was told it includes shows produced for Internet distribution, a category that contained at most half-a-dozen shows in the past year. Not much competition there, I'd say. |
