Why can't Japan do a PROPER series with a cute loli like that instead?
They're even doing shota shows now, but no loli shows, just these kind of retarded shorts.

I have a feeling the English won't be CORRECT at all...because apparently that's what happened the last time.

How did it get this way?

Indeed.

I'm sure this will be a question the future will ponder over as one of the greatest in mankind/AI history.

I wonder what profanity-laden 80's movie they'll use this time to teach English. It doesn't really get any better than Full Metal Jacket though. Still, I'll probably watch these if they're short just to hear Rina Satou, who hasn't really be in much of anything lately.

Who are they trying to kid? This has as much to do with teaching English as a translated to English doujin, or Maritan . Also there's AIC having an "English language" news page that they haven't updated since 2006, yet they release this so called "English teaching" anime on their Japanese site only? Nice try Miura. Don't you see? I've learnt from Madoka Magica that you should never trust Magical Girl shows. They're tricking them into learning German!

Since AIC's article says, '微妙にどこかで聞いたことがある台詞', actually the anime would be share (a thing that is done jokingly/half seriously) where 2ch/otaku culture-related expressions are translated into English, rather than a straight project to seriously teach English. In fact, Japanese examples that appear on the Ribbon-chan site are 2ch/otaku culture-related ones.
It is kind of doubtful whether they will also translate the stylistic feel, connotations, original contexts and the like of them, though.

That was the joke or point, also it's not just any woman but non other than Tomoko Kaneda. Mostly noted for her roles as chiyo-chan in azumanga daioh and Gretel in Black Lagoon.
