(Actually, it's not that funny, you all. A large number of television broadcasting stations still use tape because of its convenience, and storage space problems be damned.) |

Well, none of them are complete, and I wouldn't know where to find the missing episodes, and I am especially not going to spend big bucks just to complete a set. They also all came from Hollywood Video, so I don't know how much they would actually all be worth.

The list of first-round pairings can now be found at the links below. The Word doc version contains only the first-round pairings (although following the pairings forward shouldn't be difficult), while the spreadsheet version more visually illustrates how the later pairings will go. These are NOT in proper bracket forms, as I don't have the software to do that, so I'll leave it up to Dorcas_Aurelia to post on how he wants minigame entries submitted.

They were chosen based on a combination of high vote totals, perceived durability, and series popularity. *Although some slight adjustments were made to put the seeds in the right places and prevent a couple of really bad first-round match-ups (Naruto's Orochimaru vs. Bleach's Aizen, for instance), this is mostly a straight random shuffle. *For my personal amusement, I did make sure that L and Near from Death Note are both in the same bracket. They could meet up in Round 4 if they each beat all comers (although Near has some stiff potential competition in Round 2 so he might not get that far). |

I took it to mean that that is the moment when it's all going to happen. Too bad I won't be around to partake in it. I really wanted to put in a vote for Mr. X of Argento Soma, since I do believe he is smarter than Shikamaru from Naruto. But I have a sinking feeling that in the first few rounds people are going to go with the ones they know over the ones they don't. I want Mr. X to at least get one vote, but them's the breaks. Time to start work on the Guide. I'm familiar with about two-thirds of the characters in Group A, and will do those myself, but will need some help on the others. (I'd rather have people who know the characters do the write-ups instead of basing them on Wikipedia entries, like I did in several cases last time.)
The ones I need other people to step up on are listed below. Preferred format is as follows: <Name>, <Series> Type: Examples include Mastermind, (Technical/Scientific/Financial/Computer) Genius, Tactical Expert, Know-It-All, Super-Sleuth, Prodigy; others may be possible. Support: 50-100 words (approximately one medium-sized paragraph) describing the character's specific merits as a clever, intelligent, and/or cunning character. Example:
Entries Needed (Group A): Yuuko Ichihara, xxxHOLIC Yang Wenli, Legend of the Galactic Heroes Yuko Amasawa/Isako, Denno Coil Rin, Please Save My Earth Makubex, Get Backers Urumi Kanzaki, GTO Eyes Rutherford, Spiral Char Aznable, Mobile Suit Gundam, et al Kenshin Himura, Ruroni Kenshin Ayumu Narumi, Spiral Ichigo Morino, Please Teacher Mr. X, Argentosoma And while I can do this one, I'd prefer if someone else did Sailor Mercury. |

And I'm assuming spoilers should be kept to a minimum? In any event, I'll be happy to do the Mr. X (Argento Soma) writeup, if no-one else minds. [Edit: I can also do Char Aznable and Urumi Kanzaki. I don't want to be greedy, so I'll give people a chance to do them. But I'm happy to do these two as well if everyone else is busy (or if I'm the only Mecha fan here, in the case of Char).] |

And yes, I did forget to mention: try to avoid major spoilers (e.g. big reveals, climatic moments, etc.) as much as possible. Minor spoilers are acceptable, however. |
