ANN Launches New Streaming Anime from hulu.com, Joost (Updated)
by Justin Sevakis,We've been busy in the video section, streamlining our process for adding anime series hosted from partner websites. Starting today, you'll find new shows from our partners at hulu.com, Joost, and YouTube!
Here's what we just added:
From hulu.com:
From Joost:
From YouTube:
A few more titles will be posted as soon as we resolve some technical issues.
Naruto Shippūden is now sourced from Crunchyroll, giving Crunchyroll subscribers the ability to view new episodes one week early, and access HD video right from Anime News Network. Some of the other series previously available from Joost have been changed to hulu.com streams for US residents, allowing for higher quality video. hulu is a US-only service, so outside the US these series will remain sourced from Joost. For international viewers, we've made the experience as seamless as possible. Only series available in your territory will appear in the video section. (Note that some series, such as original Naruto, have dubbed and subtitled versions listed in the same category — we're working on that.)
Also, we've automated our system for adding new episodes, so there should be virtually no lag between a new episode going up on our partner sites and it being posted to ANN.
By bringing all of these streams together in one place, we hope this makes it incredibly easy to enjoy free streaming anime without having to hunt for it.
* Please note that Digimon Adventure 02 is missing several episodes, and Captain Harlock is missing episode 38. We have contacted Joost and hope to have this resolved soon.
UPDATE: A few new series have been added from hulu.com:
Corrected the title of Digimon Adventure 02, and moved Baldr Force EXE and xxxHOLiC to hulu.
