I try to add enlightening commentary, but let's face it:
I'm far from perfect.

Seen/Read All (public list)▲▼ | Rating▲▼ |
Snow White with the Red Hair (TV) | Masterpiece |
Snow White with the Red Hair (TV 2) | Very good |
Solty Rei (TV) | Good |
Sora o Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai (TV) | Very good |
Sound! Euphonium (TV) | Masterpiece The reason that I rated it at 11/11 was that it was about orchestral music. "How Warm It Sounds | Why Hibike! Euphonium Is My Favorite Anime"|Under The Scope (Jack Johnson) |
Sound! Euphonium 2 (TV) | Masterpiece Episodes twelve and thirteen neatly bookend each other. YouTube |
Sound! Euphonium 3 (TV) | Excellent I disagree with Christopher Farris about the last episode as I do not believe that it sticks the landing -- which is a shame, as I adore the entire series to pieces. |
Sound! Euphonium The Movie - Our Promise: A Brand New Day | Excellent There are lines of dialogue that affected me personally. I will have to copy them here sometime in the future. |
Sound! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest Arc (OAV) | Excellent |
Sound! Euphonium: May the Melody Reach You! (movie) | Masterpiece compilation film of cour #2 |
Sound! Euphonium: Welcome to the Kitauji High School Concert Band (movie) | Masterpiece compilation film |
Spice and Wolf (TV) | Very good Jeff Thew (Mother's Basement)compares & contrasts the 1st light novel with the 1st 6 episodes of the anime. "How Spice and Wolf Changed from Book to Anime - Adapt or Die" |
Spice and Wolf II (TV) | Very good |
Spirited Away (movie) | Excellent (dub & sub) |
Starlight Promises (ONA) | Very good ↕ The samurai element of the plot is utterly unnecessary. [CON] The purpose of the festival is emotionally moving -- they should have devoted more time to it. [PRO] I find the OST to be memorable. [PRO] https://www.milkcananime.com/2018/08/starlight-promises.html Shoma Mihara gets a text, and call, from his old friend Fujii Atsushi, who he hasn't heard from in over three years. When he goes where he's directed to for the meetup, somehow he winds up in a village where people are preparing a medieval-style Tanabata Festival (though with oddly high-tech direction.) He meets a girl named Shiori Senozawa, who's also there to meet someone. He also encounters the director of the whole affair, an apparently younger girl named Ai Kana, who turns out to be a bit unusual. Shiori and Ai try to gently correct Shoma's mistaken view about what's going on here, a somewhat difficult task since he's a bit slow to take their hints.↔ |
